Relationship of Command

In regards to the last post, I am currently listening to Relationship of Command for the first time in years. While occasionally inconsistent, it really is bracing stuff, and is actually pretty astonishing when you take a moment to consider this album as “Post-Hardcore”. That makes me think about all the terrible Hardcore I have heard in my life and makes me appreciate what ATDI did even more. And yeah, I do like “Invalid Litter Dept.”, most likely because it’s probably the slowest song they ever wrote. IGGY POP is on this album, twice, once voicing a kidnapper on “Enfilade” and providing an unintentionally hilarious Tasmanian Devil-meets-Bowie backup vocal to “Rolodex Propoganda”.

  1. I remember when my old band mates got hold of me and asked, “DUDE, have you HEARD this record? You would so love it!”

It’s been a damn long time since I’ve listened to this. God, One Armed Scissor kicks so much fucking ass all over the place. And I can barely understand a world.
