February Album Writing Month

I participated a little bit in February Album Writing Month this year. I didn’t write 14 1/2 songs, but I got a lot farther than I usually do, coming up with 8 full songs or song fragments. The pressure to try to write something everyday helped catapult my writing ability a little bit, I think, so there are a couple of gems in there (that need polishing, of course).

My profile as Panther Lake on FAWM

Not to mention, the encouragement you get from other FAWMers is priceless. It makes me wish they ran it more than once a year, or kept the site online permanently for we song writers to have a place to keep our notes and sketches.

I’m currently attempting to convert one of the songs under my FAWM profile to a Meltdowns song. There are pros and cons to playing with a group, but it definitely wins against playing by yourself. Sometimes you really need other people to throw ideas at to see if they actually stick.
